A digital signal processor, which is dedicated to the PS-CCD (progressive scan type CCD), is developed. The DSCP1 (Digital Still Camera Processor 1) adopts a new pixel interpolation algorithm which takes an average of two mean pixel values from the 4 neighboring pixels and an individual color matrix before gamma control in order to provide the higher image quality. The DSCP1 also provides a scan conversion from the progressive scan to the interlace scan type image without requiring a specific video memory to achieve a moving picture function
