In this presentation we present two different approaches to cloud based deployment of analytics and business intelligence, namely an analyst specialist platform and a social platform. We present lessons learnt when offering analysts a flexible platform for modeling and sharing, which has proven particularly useful in the analysis of large amounts of streaming unstructured data; referred to in industry as Big Data. Furthermore, we present lessons learnt when offering a social networking approach where users can friend, share, analyze, and discuss datasets. We discuss the trending behavior of the social platform and its current and potential game-changing impact on a whole industry as analytics shifts from being solemnly inside-out to embracing entire industries from the outside and in.
