Abstract

There has been much research on DVS (dynamic voltage scaling) in multiprocessor real-time scheduling. Most of them, however, can be applied to partitioned scheduling. There are a few research on global scheduling. This paper proposes an off-line DVS scheme for EDF(k), which is a global scheduling algorithm for identical multiprocessor systems. This scheme determines static individual speed for each task based on uniform speed, and then determines static dual speed in order to utilize the difference between the actual execution time and the worst case execution time.
