In this paper, we describe the preliminary results of "cultural probes" used with professional women to identify their felt experiences of different forms of Identity Management (IM). IM takes place in physical and digital worlds and within personal, social, professional and cultural contexts. The aim was to explore from the point of view of participants what they perceive as IM, what kind of technologies/services/practices (TSPs) they use on a regular basis for IM, and what they like and/or dislike about them. Cultural probes are a non-intrusive tool that provokes reflection in the participants that will be projected as opinions and feelings for the designers within the research team to understand peoples daily experiences of IM; which will in turn provide a rich stimulus for the creation of various design prototypes, both physical and digital.
