Hand recognition is one of an important biometric recognition technique. In this paper, we have proposed a simple and efficient technique for hand recognition that combines Hu invariant moments and Legendre moments. In fact, each feature vector is not discriminative for identification and only using them all at once with appropriate weights it is possible to reach an excellent recognition rate. The proposed hand-based recognition system has been tested on a database of 100 subjects illustrating promising results. Qualitative comparisons with state of the art systems illustrate comparable of better performance.
