Abstract

Security in software engineering has become an important research area, in part because of recent events that exposed security vulnerabilities in major systems. Learning about security issues in software systems should start in the classroom. While some computer science curricula include specific classes on security, security issues are often neglected in other courses. This paper presents security teaching modules to be taught throughout a computer science curriculum. The modules teach students a large spectrum of security concepts with security best practices and techniques to build secure software systems.
