Abstract

In this paper, a formal structure is proposed to represent conflicts based on the axiomatic theory of design modeling and the Recursive Object Model ROM. The proposed formal structure is derived by analyzing the definitions of conflicts using the ROM. The foundation of this formal structure is the atomic conflict, which is composed of three elements: two competing objects and one resource object for which the former two contend. The relations between those three elements in a conflict are also analyzed. Examples show that the representation proposed in this paper can reflect the structure of most conflicts.
