3D in the Pines and on the Plains is a joint project of the TENET Emerging Technologies Institute. TET is a National Science Foundation funded project with the University of Texas and TENET (Texas Education Network). TET started with a group of 14 teachers from across the state of Texas who have worked in the area of high performance computing in the classroom. Two teachers have worked together on the "3D in the Pines and on the Plains" project, Marcia Talkmitt and Jeff Hightower. Marcia is a GT coordinator/Science Teacher at Slaton High School in Slaton, Texas. Jeff is a Computer Science/Business Teacher at Central Heights High School in Nacogdoches, Texas.
