Bergin is an associate professor of information systems in the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at the American University. He previously received practical experience while serving as a systems analyst with the Veterans Administration. In addition to his research interest in computer-aided software engineering, Dr. Bergin is widely recognized for his indepth research into the history of computing as well as the ethical and social impacts of computer use.
