Abstract

Reference models accurately reflect live networks — increasingly this means they are more complex, have shorter development cycles, and are expected to deliver more value-for-money than ever before. Fortunately, it is precisely these real-world issues that reference models are designed to address. This paper examines the evolving role of reference models, and demonstrates that they are an increasingly vital element in BTs integration strategy, facilitating the delivery of new services within time and budget. A few of the models within the integration facility are examined to give some idea of their scope.
