Abstract

The spatiotemporal semantics associated with multimedia objects make the data and applications more complex to generate and control. Intelligent synchronization agents, which deal easily with both absolute and relative scheduling requirements, are therefore ideal for multimedia integration. The paper includes a formal specification model, Interoperable Petri Nets (IPNs), to describe agents' behavior and to capture the temporal semantics existing among distributed multimedia objects.Contact: Yahya Y.
