Interactive distributed simulation environments consist of interconnected communicating components. The performance of such a system is determined by the execution time of the executing components and the amount of data that is exchanged between components. We describe an interactive distributed simulation system in the scope of a, medical test case (simulated vascular reconstruction) and present a. number of techniques to improve performance.
