Abstract

In this paper we describe Siru, a virtual reality development environment for the Mac OS. Unlike existing virtual reality authoring tools, Siru features unique inter-application communication capabilities, and thus can be used to develop customised solutions having sophisticated three-dimensional interfaces and integrating functionalities from existing application programs. We present the tool itself and a few sample applications. We also discuss some technology choices that have been made, and look forward to possible future improvements.
