This paper presents a model for chemical formulation called Abstract Compound Machine (ACM). The ACM permits to explicitly represent, compute and integrate (as adaptation module) in a Case-Based Reasoning architecture the knowledge about design of chemical compound. The specific application domain described here concerns the design of rubber compounds as product revise in tire industry.
