Abstract

Previous studies on video storage servers focused on improving the disk throughput and reducing the server buffer size. In this paper, we propose a novel clustered NAS architecture to store the video files so as to improve the users supported and reduce the reponse time that clients have to wait. One performance model is presented to give the relationship among the factors that will affect the system performance. Through the model we can get the method to determine the size of data block that video file stripe to and allocate the requests arrived.
