Abstract

This article describes what is involved in the process of natural language generation (NLG), by means of which a textual or spoken presentation can be created from underlying data. We describe the architectural components of an NLG system and the functionality they bring to the overall process, and discuss the applicability of NLG techniques in the context of data mining.
