Abstract

This paper describes a pilot study conducted to explore the teaching of ethics in SoftwareEngineering programs. The author reviewed existing literature and then constructed atentative survey, which was sent to 127 educators. Questions involved ethical topicsencountered, methods of delivery, and the use of codes of ethics. Results provide only aninformal snapshot of trends but responses are being used to create a revised survey, which willbe sent to a larger population.
