Tools for Map Graphics There are many types of maps because there are a great number of very different applications that require the information conveyed by maps. The support provided by adequate tools is essential if computerized mapping systems are to be effective. A narrative sequence of events will show why and how adequate support is essential. Simultaneously, a list is developed identifying the tools necessary for creating map graphics by computer-assisted methods.
