Some behavioural properties of programs running on a B6700 are presented. The data has been collected from simulations of many large and medium sized programs. The data present includes the percentages of different types of memory references, the average sequence lengths between transfers of control, and statistical information from the segments of the programs. The results collected have some interesting implications concerning the design of processors executing programs written in modern, high level languages.
