In a joint research project concerning the use and designof IT in public services, we are using a simple figure ofon-going design-oriented interactions to highlightshifting foci on relationships of co-development ofservices, citizenship and technology. We bring together anumber of concrete examples of this on-going everydayco-development, presented from the different perspectivesthat we, as researchers from different disciplines andtraditions, represent in the project. The article exploresand discusses working relations of technology productionand use that we see as central to what is actually makinge-government happen - or not happen. The main challengein this area, as we see it, concerns making visible, anddeveloping supportive infrastructures for, the continuinglocal adaptation, development and design in use of integratedIT and public services.
