As XML documents become widely used, demands forconcurrent authoring of XML documents increase signicantly. CVS is widely used for traditional plain-text baseddocuments, but it doesn't meet the demands sufficiently. This is because CVS is based on line-oriented diff andmerge operations, and doesn't pay attention to XML treestructure. To cope with this problem, we developed atopology-sensitive XML diff algorithm. The consistencycontrol system based on our algorithm can handle XML treestructure appropriately, reduces unexpected conficts, andgenerates properly merged outputs.
