This paper examines current approaches to usabilitymetrics and proposes a new approach for quantifyingsoftware quality in use, based on modelling the dynamicrelationships of the attributes that affect software usability. The Quality in Use Integrated Map (QUIM) is proposedfor specifying and identifying quality in use components, which brings together different factors, criteria, metricsand data defined in different Human Computer Interfaceand Software Engineering models. The GraphicalDynamic Quality Assessment (GDQA) model is used toanalyse interaction of these components into a systematicstructure. The paper first introduces a new classificationscheme into graphical logic based framework using QUIMcomponents (factors, criteria metrics and data) to assessquality in use of interactive systems. Then, we illustratehow QUIM and GDQA may be used to assess softwareusability using subjective measures of qualitycharacteristics as defined in ISO/IEC 9126.
