In this paper, we address dynamic reconfiguration fromthe point of view of the enforcement of the policies thatorganisations wish to see imposed through the way informationsystems support business. We address the processof evolution by proposing a primitive - coordination context- for modelling the circumstances in which reconfigurationcan and should take place. The idea is for businesspolicies to emerge as properties of process executionswhen controlled through the coordination contexts thatwill have been defined for supporting business activities.
