DeepWave is an experimental installation that allows real time visualization of music withina 3-dimensional virtual environment. In this paper we give a technical overview of theDeepWave system and discuss artistic observations. We furthermore give a brief introductionto the DeepWave authoring process and describe two experiments in which we used DeepWave in a live setting and in production mode.
