In this paper, we paid attention to the communication between the human and the robot. In the case of the interactive communication, the first step is eye contact. Therefore, we constructed a robot, which has eyes that work as the active vision. Eyes are always controlled to see a communicating parson by using stereo camera images. We compare our proposed method with other method. Our system detects and tracks the person effectively. We installed this system in our robot and evaluated the performance. We felt that our robot became friendly and attractive.
