Collections of sound and music of increasing sizeand diversity are used both by general personalcomputer users and multimedia designers. Browsingaudio collections poses several challenges to the designof effective user interfaces. In this paper, we present theSonic Browser, an application for browsing soundcollections on personal computers. In this paper wedescribe how a novel user interface with multiple viewscan be applied to the browsing of audio collections.Finally, we conclude with current trends of our approachfor further improvement of the system.
