Abstract

The worldwide boom in IT use has spurred software development efforts around the globe. The authors' research program focuses on collecting quantitative data about several countries' current practices and performance, their adoption of competing models of software development, and analysis of the impact of these practices on performance. The authors surveyed 104 software development projects in India, Japan, Europe, and the US.
