It is the belief of our research group that the use of a bespoke management system with programmable routers makes experimental evaluation of router software more accessible to network researchers. This paper justifies the need for such a system, and that the results that can be obtained using it are valid. Additionally, case studies are presented that will allow us to show experimentally that our system does in fact deliver the functionality outlined in previous work.
