In this paper the analysis of a wavelet-basedwatermarking algorithm is presented, in whichDiscrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) is used forwatermark embedding and detection. In imagecompression field, the relation between DWTcoefficients and Human Visual System (HVS) isresearched intensively to get better compressionperformance. Recently this knowledge is applied tothe watermarking algorithms based on DWT domain. The watermarking algorithm to analyze is adaptive tothe image characteristics, such as texture andluminance contents, and it is realized using pixel bypixel masking in DWT domain to embed watermarkwith maximum energy. The detection process consists of cross-correlationbetween marked image and pseudorandom sequences, and in this process the original image is not required. The computer simulation results show robustness andperceptual invisibility of the algorithm.
