Abstract

A sampling of decisions of practicing managers represented by evening MBA students is reviewed to explore the applicability and the completeness of existing theories of decision-making. In response to a review of difficulties illustrated by the study, a utilitarian and descriptive model of decision-making is described. We further discuss the role of this model in the analysis and design of decision support systems (DSS).
