Abstract

This paper compares several definitions of Organisational Learning and Learning Organisation in an attempt to clarify the differences between the concepts of Organisational Learning and the Learning Organisation. The various views of a Learning Organisation and Organisational Learning are detailed. The paper goes on to examine barriers to implementing learning processes to become a Learning Organisation. It is argued that overcoming these barriers is achieved through the recognition of people-networks, evolving innovations and supporting communities of interest.
