Abstract

In this paper, we present the conception and the integration of the handwritten character recognition system (RESIFCar) into mobile devices: smartphone and personal digital assistant. Through an industrial collaboration, RESIFCar has been successfully integrated into mobile devices. These mobile phones are today commercialized in Europe. The experience coming from this industrialization shows us the important part of the input interface in the efficiency of the application. More recent works are presented in the last part of this paper. These works focus on the design of a new pen input interface dedicated to the mobile devices.
