Abstract

Three distinct problems arise in the attempt to simulate Chinese brush painting: modeling ink and water diffusion in paper, modeling soft brush dynamics, and creating a brush stroke input method. Recent research [1] demonstrates that attention to the problems of brush modeling more effectively captures the style of Chinese brush painting. Until recently, however, nearly all research has focused exclusively on the problem of diffusion.
