Abstract

In previous work, we presented a tiered architecture based on e-learning standards that includes a middle layer for communication and exchange of learning objects between Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Object Repositories (LOR). Here, we apply this architecture to the International E-Miage (IEM) project, an Information System Engineering curriculum for Miage distant teaching which gathers twenty national sites and delivers official degrees. Thus, we bring IEEE-LOM metadata to the learning modules, together with a single interface allowing for interoperability between the LMS deployed within the IEM framework and the Knowledge Pool System of the Ariadne Foundation. The new architecture is currently experimented in Toulouse, and should be deployed within all others IEM exploitation centers in a few weeks.
