Abstract

Inspired by the way a movie set works, this agent-based software framework increases a driving simulator's effectiveness bycontrolling the traffic scenarios dynamically . The framework divides the agents into actors (on the set) and crew (behind the scenes).Because the framework defines clear responsibilities for each agent, the system is extensible, maintainable, and easy to understand. Theframework will also work for other multiagent systems, especially for simulation and game applications. This article is part of a specialissue on interactive entertainment.
