This paper presents a framework that supports a web-based multimedia presentation of a museum on fixed information and educational stations and web sites. Museum curators are offered a wizard-like procedure through which they can structure and populate the content to be presented, associate the content to predefined application types that present it and configure the execution order of applications. No technical expertise is required by the curators in order to complete this procedure. The framework has been applied and refined in 30 medium-sized museums in Greece. In the future, an evaluation of the framework is planned along with its application in more museums. Additionally, the framework will support more tight communication with existing standards.
