Abstract

In this paper we propose an ontology based representation of theaffective states for context aware applications that allowsexpressing the complex relations that are among the affectivestates and between these and the other context elements. Thisrepresentation is open to map different affective spaces; basic andsecondary states relation (using Fuzzy Logic), the relation betweenthese states and other context elements as location, time, person, activity etc. The proposed affective context model is encoded inOWL. Due to difficulties in direct detection of the secondaryaffective states we propose a method to infer the characteristicvalues of these states from other context elements values. Thededuces states are used here to improve the behavior of a ContextAware Museum Guide in order to react more intuitively and moreintelligent by taking into account the users affective states.
