Abstract

In this paper, we present a modelling approach to study learningprocesses. We introduce the process/pedagogy/tools model and shownhow its assembly-line style of process modelling can be used todescribe which pedagogical aspects and which tools that supportwhich parts of a specific learning process. We also review the SECIknowledge creation theory of Nonaka and combine it with processmodelling to arrive at a SECI process framework for the study andanalysis of knowledge-creating learning processes. Finally, we showthat the different SECI modes of knowledge conversion areempirically supported by pedagogical research.
