Real-Time systems (RTS for short) are those systems whose behavior is time dependent. The correction of these systems does not only depend on the logical result of the computation but also on the time at which the inputs and outputs are observed. This paper proposes an approach to reduce the number of test cases considered while testing RTS. The proposed approach is based on the computation of an optimal tester. As an application of our approach, the paper proposes a case study on the real-time Ethernet protocol.
