Abstract

Two significant trends have evolved which will substantially effect the nature of computer organizations over the next ten years: 1. The almost universal use of higher level programming languages and corresponding decrease in the use of machine level programming. 2. The continued improvement in cost and performance of both logic and memory technologies.
