In this paper an accelerating technique designed to improve the convergence speed of the population based algorithms is proposed. An illustration of this technique is presented on a genetic algorithm, performing such acceleration steps to solve a nonlinear integer programming problem. The encouraging results show that the combination of genetic and of population based algorithms with such enhancement may lead to hybrid search procedures with very good convergence properties.
