Social influence and behaviour of online communities and groups research had gained momentum with the popularity of web as a medium of social interactions. These studies on the other hand had focused on communication factors and had largely ignored the influence of social ties on user interface experience. Since user interface experience depends on user interface design, social influence on quality design would be valuable information in enhancing user quality experience in information technology. Taking into consideration that past studies had examined the impacts of culture and social separately, this research intends to interpret the effects of social and cultural influence on web design. With results from observation of sample blogs show that there are indications of social influence on web design, further exploration into the issue will benefit future research in information systems.
