Quality of Service (QoS) in Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) presents a great challenge to researchers, and work in this area has been isolated and focused on some specific protocol layers or application scenarios. In this paper, we propose a holistic QoS model to evaluate the performance of WSN. QoS requirements within a WSN reference architecture is presented, and then a two-way mapping between application layer parameters and network layer parameters is carefully analyzed using fuzzy logic. Finally, we propose a fuzzy logic based comprehensive evaluation model for systematic QoS in WSN, and use a case study to illustrate its effectiveness.
