In this paper, we describe the use of Alice in Bloomsburg University's Math & Science Summer Experience, a summer outreach program in math and science for middle school students. Unlike most summer outreach programs in which Alice is used, this program is not a "computer camp" but rather a program with broader scope and therefore broader appeal. We present the content of the session as well as draw conclusions about its effectiveness from student surveys and instructor observations.
