Abstract

An online MMS (Multimedia Message Service) system is designed and implemented based on the technologies of automatic caricature generation and animation. Users upload a facial image and a piece of speech, and specify some parameters, then, the MMS with personalized caricature animation will be generated and sent to the predefined mobile phone. Two main procedures, caricature generating and animation synthesizing are involved. For caricature generating, which is from face image to caricature, we proposed automatic caricature generation method based on Manifold Regularization. For animation synthesizing, which is from caricature to animation, we developed speech driven animation approach based on Hidden Markov Model. The real online running system proved that our methods can provide people attractive MMS for mobile entertainment successfully.
