The paper states Iterative Translation by Monolinguists (ITM), the new approach to the translation process in which a translation is carried out by persons without a common language who work in a cooperation, e.g. by two monolinguist instead of a translator. To prove the effectiveness of the approach, the pilot ITM platform as well as its dedicated extensions for both text translation and instant messaging communication have been designed, implemented and tested. Results of the tests confirm ITM's usability both in terms of quality and efficiency. Measured translation quality is acceptable and translation provisioning time is significantly lower. The concept is likely to bring a reduction of the multilingual information flow barrier and to be a transitory solution during the process of creation of an infallible machine translation engine.
