Production and interpretation of meanings are fundamental in HCI. To the semiotic engineering theory, the designer needs to construct a user interface to communicate his/her intended solution to the user. In order to appropriately use a computing system, the user should interpret the designer's intended meanings. In our project, we investigate the use of scripts to express the user interface meanings in natural language as an epistemic tool to analyze differences in stakeholders' interpretations. As a first step, we define a dictionary of interactive signs that could be use to generate user interface scripts.
