Today's growing interest in mobile technologies and applications creates curiosity to examine the conditions (what, how and where) under which they can be especially applied in the tourism sector. This paper focuses on mapping the mobile tourism applications regarding specific dimensions of proposed business models resulting by extended literature review. Fourteen tourism services are analyzed as case studies through a content analysis selection taking into consideration the proposed dimensions. Furthermore, the specific focus of these services is mainly on their value proposition, the role of their technology delivery channels, the initiators of the services and their revenue model. The results showed that the most popular mobile tourism applications are for navigating and disseminating information to end-users/travellers using their smart phones as a channel.
