Abstract

Today's commercially available distance display and collaboration solutions tend to sacrifice either image resolution or interactivity - both critical for groups working on large-scale problems. We describe a technique in use at Sandia National Laboratories design centers for remote visualization and collaboration using large-format displays. Using commercial, off-the-shelf equipment minimizes cost yet supports real-time, full-frame-rate transfers of compressed, high-resolution images to remotely distributed large-format displays.
