Current distributed virtual reality systems suffer from many inherent difficulties: inadequate network architecture, poor object distribution and coherency, poor system resource management, and poor over-all performance. This paper outlines the NAVL DVR system, designed to overcome these problems with a distributed client/server network architecture and master/slave autonomous object distribution mechanism using ForceLet simulation.
